Afghanistan: Helmand Man Builds Solar-Powered Water Pump

A man in the southern province of Helmand has designed a solar-powered water pump which is able to pump water by using only sunlight. Dad Mohammad, 25, who designed the device, said he wants to invent such devices in order to help people in underdeveloped provinces. He said this can be used for agricultural purposes and for pumping clean drinking water in remote areas where there is no electricity. He said local people have shown a great interest in the pump.
