In 2015 it became apparent that the Middle East syndrome (increased tension and conflict in connection with the reduction of water resources) begins to spread deep to the north. The government of Ukraine has already pondered the imposition of restrictions on water consumption in connection with hot weather and a sharp decrease in the water level of rivers, lakes and other bodies of water. Ukraine stressed clearly that the reduction of available water resources directly affects its industrial sector, municipal services and quality of life of the population. The Ukrainian government did not unveil the hydrological data to link the drought of 2015 with exceptional phenomenon or part of some longer trends.
