Welcome to today’s discussions on rethinking women’s leadership in crisis situations. This is held as part of our Development Dialogues: Rethinking Solutions to Crisis in the Decade of Action series, where over the course of the next four months, UNDP aims to shine a spotlight on the most urgent action required to support those living in crisis to move towards sustainable development. This year’s theme of International Women’s Day is “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.” As we celebrate International Women’s Day today, we are renewing our commitment for advancing gender equality, women’s empowerment, and for the Women, Peace and Security agenda.
