Its rich deposits of cobalt and coltan, essential minerals for electric vehicle batteries and renewable energy technologies, are helping to curb our reliance on fossil fuels. But the ongoing war in eastern DRC, fuelled in part by competition for these resources, threatens to undermine our climate aspirations.
