The Environmental Peacebuilding Association’s Young Professionals Interest Group (YPIG) is pleased to announce the launch of its mentorship initiative. Join and help shape the future of environmental peacebuilding!
Mentorship and sponsorship opportunities are critical for young professionals to access the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve success. As part of the Road to Geneva, the YPIG is launching a mentorship initiative for young environmental peacebuilders. The mentorship program seeks to pair young professionals with established environmental peacebuilding professionals for one-on-one mentoring.
The program is designed to be flexible based on the interests and needs of the mentors and mentees. The minimum time commitment is one hour per month and the program will last for one year, May 2021 - May 2022, although the mentoring may continue by mutual consent.
For example, mentor-mentee pairs may choose to:
- meet (virtually or otherwise, as appropriate) once a month for unstructured conversations
- meet to discuss building a career in environmental peacebuilding
- work together on an article or project
Please complete the following form: https://forms.gle/H7dP6WaEpEPtxz8Z8 to indicate your interest in being a mentor.
Based on responses, the YPIG co-chairs will identify a young professional from within the EnPAx membership who would benefit from your expertise. When we have identified the young professional, we will confirm with you before putting you in touch with your mentee.
Please complete the form by Friday, April 16 to indicate your interest in being a part of this initiative. Let us know if you have any questions: Amanda King (amanda.king@wilsoncenter.org) and Clara Summers (summersc@uw.edu).
The Environmental Peacebuilding Association is committed to providing a safe environment for all, and both mentors and mentees are expected to read and abide by the Association’s Anti-Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation Policy (https://www.environmentalpeacebuilding.org/assets/Uploads/5d802b1f694db.pdf.)
Note: Only young professionals who are members of the Environmental Peacebuilding Association can participate; all potential mentors are welcome, although preference will be given to EnPAx members. This is a program of the Young Professionals Interest Group and is separate from the Young Rapporteurs Program.
