The Environmental Peacebuilding Association (EnPAx) is committed to people to stay connected during these unprecedented times. We would like to remind all EnPAx members of the opportunities for engagement presented by the Interest Groups. These groups offer a space for collaboration and discussion of targeted areas of environmental peacebuilding. Furthermore, the EnPAx Interest Groups remain (virtually) active and productive during this uncertain and complex situation.
These upcoming IG webinars are open to both members and non-members:
- April 24: the Young Professionals Interest Group is hosting a webinar ‘Getting Published: How to Tell Your Story to the Media’ (April 24) as the first in a mentorship series for young (or other) professionals.
- April 29: the Monitoring and Evaluation Interest Group will host the webinar ‘IMPACT’s Innovative Approach to Monitoring and Evaluation’, welcoming the Executive Director and Project Manager of IMPACT to discuss and learn about their organization’s approach to the management of natural resources in contexts of insecurity.
- April 30: the Water Interest Group is pleased to sponsor ‘Water, Sanitation, COVID-19, and Cooperation in the Middle East', a webinar considering the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on cooperation, peacebuilding, and public health in the Middle East in particular, welcoming regional and subject experts to discuss the implications.
- May 12: EnPAx will host a ‘Virtual Consultation to Gauge Interest in a Private Sector Interest Group’, which will focus on the relationship between environmental concerns and sustainability, peacebuilding, and the private sector.
In addition to public events like those above, Interest Groups regularly host group calls to plan, network, and engage on their topic. There are Interest Groups on: Africa, Big Data, Disasters and Resilience, Education, Law, Forest Resources, Gender, Monitoring and Evaluation, Water, and Young Professionals, and the Association is exploring the development of other Interest Groups. For more information, please see the Interest Group main page.
Interest Groups are open to all EnPAx members and welcome participation from researchers, practitioners, students, and other interested individuals. If any members would like to register interest with the developing Groups above, please contact association@environmentalpeacebuilding.org.
If you are interested in becoming active in EnPAx Interest Groups, but are not yet a member of the Association, please consider joining! In addition to Interest Groups, there are many other benefits of EnPAx membership. For more information, please see the Membership page and/or contact association@environmentalpeacebuilding.org.
