The Planetary Security Initiative welcomes suggestions for workshops to be held at the 4th Planetary Security Conference (PSC), organized on the 19th and 20th of February in The Hague/The Netherlands. The first three editions of the conference were attended by over 300 invited representatives from more than 70 countries. They have successfully strengthened a community of practice around climate and security, bolstered knowledge, forged an agenda for action and developed the event into the fixture in this policy field over the last years.
Workshop proposals have to be submitted by the 8th of July 2018.
Proposed workshops fall at least under one of the following categories:
- Match-making: Provides an interactive platform to develop and expand international networks and facilitate cooperation. It aims at learning from various experiences, exchanging on (best) practices, networking and identifying potential areas of cooperation.
- Background Briefing: Provides a broader perspective with well-crafted background presentations that engage a less-specified audience to identify relevant issues, entry points, and recommendations for their daily work.
- Conversation: Encourages participants to interactively exchange perspectives and experiences towards potential solutions. Chosen topics should be specific in content but accessible to a broader audience.
- Deep dive: Elaborates a well-defined, specific topic in detail deepening the knowledge and understanding of an audience highly interested or working in this field. It features a concise structure for an already knowledgeable audience.
