Armed conflict in eastern Ukraine has damaged and destructed 17.000 houses and displaced 1.6 million people. There's a need for adequate procedures of restitution and compensation for loss of rights, value, use and access to housing, land and property.

The paper gathers the international experience and best practices of housing, land and property’s restitution and compensation from other countries’ contexts: the Balkans, Myanmar and Colombia. At the public discussion, governmental stakeholders, courts’ representatives, local civil society elevated policy discussion around the HLP issues of displacement in Ukraine to key decision-making audience.
