It is nearly ten years since the beginning of the Boko Haram insurgency in northeast Nigeria. The communities living in the three states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe have been some of the most severely affected by the violence. Despite this, they have never before been asked for their perspectives on the conflict and how to end it.

Conciliation Resources and the Kukah Centre, based in Nigeria, interviewed over 1,000 people living in these states to ask about their views on the current response and what they thought was needed for peace.
