The environmental peacebuilding field often advances the assumption that environmental issues present good entry points for dialogue, mediation, and peace. It is, however, often that straightforward. This paper adds critical nuance to this approach - exploring when it works, how to seize it, when it doesn't work, and when to avoid it.
