The International Conference on  Artisanal and Small-scale Mining & Quarrying will take place on 11-13th September 2018, in Livingstone, Zambia. The conference aims to promote a global dialogue about the opportunities and challenges that face the artisanal and small-scale mining sector. 

Various commodities will be discussed such as gold, diamonds, tin, tungsten, tantalum, colored stones, sand, gravel, and clay.

Other themes will include; formalization of ASM and practical experiences of policy reform, local economic development and livelihood approaches, the relationship between ASM and civil or community conflict and other topics.
