Geneva Peace Week 2020 is a leading annual forum in the international peacebuilding calendar. This year, the final day of the week, 6 November, will be devoted entirely to topics in environmental peacebuilding, including the prominent amplification of voices of peacebuilders around the world. The day consists of a series of sessions, conversations, and trainings, culminating in a Closing Ceremony devoted to impact and policy. Other subtopics include the role of conservation in environmental peacebuilding to the development of digital technology and early warning systems in climate risk assessment and security frameworks. 11:30 – 12:30 : Exploring case-studies of environmental peacebuilding in Kenya, Nepal, and Nigeria (hosted by Initiatives of Change Switzerland and the Geneva Centre for Security Policy)

11:30 – 12:30 : Cutting edge science in the service of peacebuilding, in a pivotal moment for the survival of our planet (hosted by 3Dlexia Cosmos, Ministry of Education Tucuman Argentina, Biopolitics International Organization)

12:45 – 13:45 : Intergenerational dialogue on the role of water in environmental peacebuilding (hosted by Geneva Water Hub, the University of Geneva, International Secretariat for Water, Environmental Peacebuilding Association, and the World Youth Parliament for Water)

12:45 – 13:45 : Conservation and peacebuilding: Towards greater collaboration (hosted by PeaceNexus Foundation, International Union for the Conservation of Nature, Conservation International, and World Wildlife Fund)

14:00 – 15:15 : WORKSHOP: Peace and climate action: Challenges and opportunities from Latin America (hosted by the Graduate Institute’s Environmental Committee and Latin America Network Initiative, the Quaker United Nations Office, and PeaceNexus Foundation)

14:00 – 15:15 : WORKSHOP: Beyond water: Science diplomacy for local conflict prevention (hosted by Clingendael Institute, UNESCO Hydropolitics Chair, UNESCO-SIMEV Chair, Montpellier UNESCO International Water Centre)

15:30 – 17:00 : Geneva Peace Week Closing Ceremony -- Forward Together: A Joint Agenda for Environment, Climate, Conflict, and Peace
