Climate change disproportionately affects women due to various social and economic stressors. In a recent study, climate change was linked to a rise in pregnancy risks, affecting Black mothers most. Higher temperatures and hurricanes will put women in Miami at a higher risk of health complications, which combined with COVID-19 could be potentially devastating, especially in vulnerable communities already hit hardest by the pandemic.
