Join KAIROS’ MERE Hub for Stories of Courage: Women Defending Land and Water in Canada and Brazil. This online teach-in is the last in a series of virtual events in June celebrating the launch of MERE Hub—the Canadian phase. The teach-in will feature:

Dorene Bernard is a Mi’kma’ki Grassroots Grandmother.

Alma Brooks is a Wolastoqew Grandmother.

Loretta Williams is chair of First Nations Women Advocating Responsible Mining (FNWARM).

Avelin Buniacá is a Kambiwá land defender from Brazil.

Moderated by Sherry Pictou is a Mi’kmaw woman from L’sɨtkuk (water cuts through high rocks) known as Bear River First Nation and Assistant Professor of Women’s Studies at Mount Saint Vincent University.

Simultaneous interpretation in English and Portuguese will be provided.
