In partnership with UNEP / OCHA Joint Environment Unit, this training will give you the concepts, methods and tools to understand and anticipate the impacts of humanitarian action on the environment and, thus, operationalize an environmental approach within your projects. humanitarian. This training is intended for professionals in the international solidarity sector who participate in the implementation, financing, logistics, monitoring and / or evaluation of crisis response projects (for example: project manager, responsible for monitoring funding and partnerships, responsible for monitoring & evaluation, directors, logisticians, etc.).

Educational goals

At the end of the training, participants are able to:

  • Understand what is at stake in the interaction between a humanitarian crisis, the environment and humanitarian action;
  • Promote the integration of the environment in humanitarian action within the organization (and possibly with donors) through understanding the challenges and levers, advocacy, and internal awareness;
  • Describe the key elements of an environmental approach within an organization;
  • Acquire methodological reflexes and ask the "right questions" to integrate the environment at each stage of the project cycle;
  • Identify and propose good practices to reduce the environmental impact of their programs and offices;
  • Master tools to carry out environmental impact studies of projects.
