There are opportunities for businesses operating in contexts of fragility and conflict to contribute proactively to peace. Their contribution to peacebuilding is however challenged by the fact that their operations tend to conflict with the needs of local communities, due to their impact on land and water, resources that are increasingly under pressure from climate change.
