The Geneva Peace Week is a collective initiative facilitated by the United Nations Office at Geneva, the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, and the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform in collaboration with the Swiss Confederation that includes meetings and events on different topics related to the promotion of peace.
In particular, the conference “Sustaining Peace in an Era of Climate Change” - organized by Quaker United Nations Office (QUNO) and the Environmental Committee of the Graduate Institute, - seeks to complement this year’s topic of ‘Building Peace in a Turbulent World’ by analysing the effects of climate change on peace, and exploring the implications of environmental practices on peacebuilding.
The panel consists of representatives from UN Environment's Crisis Management Branch, the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) and QUNO.
