Please join ISOA for the next Women, Peace and Security Webinar of 2024. The Women, Peace, and Security Act of 2017 (P.L. 115-68) (WPS Act) codified the United States Government’s decades-long, sustained commitment to the principles of the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda. With over $150M allocated to WPS initiatives in 2023 alone, the momentum is there, promising greater investments in the next decade.

Why should you attend?

  • Learn directly from your clients in the federal government on how WPS is being operationalized.
  • Hear about how to feature WPS in your proposals and projects to win work and achieve contract success.
  • Engage in a discussion on how policy is and should evolve to ensure that WPS is being implemented.
  • Free to both ISOA and non-ISOA members.

What can you expect?

  • You will learn how the federal government is using WPS for national security.
  • Be able to identify areas to potentially augment your projects and proposals to win more and do better.
  • Understand where and how policy needs to evolve to integrate WPS to serve our national security objectives.

Our impressive team of esteemed panelists are from across the federal government and are involved in implementing WPS in peace and stability operations. We will have two 25-minute panels followed by discussion across panelists from the two panels and a ‘question and answer’ session with the audience.

In Panel One our esteemed panelists will share with you how they are operationalizing WPS to serve national security objectives. They will share with you how WPS needs to be featured in your proposals and projects to win more work and ensure that we achieve the desired results in our work.

  • Nino Nadiradze, the USAID Country Representative for Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanatu
  • Tiffani Phillips, Director of the Office of Human Security and Resilience, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and United State Northern Command (USNORTHCOM); Strategy, Policy and Plans Directorate; Security Cooperation Division
  • Sharon Feist, Director for Women, Peace & Security, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command

Panel Two will focus on how policy needs to evolve to truly harness the full potential of WPS for national security. Panelists include:

  • Mick Bednarek, Lieutenant General (US Army, Ret.), Vice President of Strategic Outreach for Fluor’s Mission Solutions Business Group. He is responsible for ensuring that Fluor is aligned with the U.S. government’s interests and has the resources and ability to support as needed. He is also the Chairman of the ISOA Board of Directors.
  • Jennifer K. Johnson, Foreign Affairs Officer in the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations, where she leads on Women, Peace, and Security.

Both panels will be moderated by Claire Sneed, a WPS Senior Advisor and Gender Advisor at Q2 Impact.

This webinar is open to both ISOA members and non-members. Pre-registration is required.
