Strengthening Practice to Address Conflict and Peace Issues in Conservation (A Path to The Hague Event)

Mar 6, 2024 | Conservation International, Environmental Peacebuilding Association, Environmental Law Institute, and PeaceNexus Foundation
Washington, DC

Biodiversity conservation and climate adaptation work increasingly takes place in conflict-affected countries. Yet organizations working on these issues do not always have systematic policies, practices and resources in place to work in ways that can avoid doing harm from a conflict perspective, or that can proactively take up opportunities to strengthen social cohesion, collaboration and peace. This session aims to share experiences among organizations working in the conservation and environment space about what it takes to put conflict-sensitive conservation and environmental peacebuilding work into practice, and to share some of the existing initiatives, tools and resources available.

When: March 6, 2024, 3:00 PM-5:00 PM ET

Where: ELI offices – 1730 M Street NW, Suite 700, Washington, DC
