The Transitional Justice Interest Group (TJ-IG) of the Environmental Peacebuilding Association is pleased to invite you to a webinar on the issue of post-conflict reparation of environmental damage on March 20th, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 EST. Our webinar will focus on an often-overlooked aspect of transitional justice, environmental reparation, highlighting its importance in a more comprehensive post-conflict transition. The panellists will explore the UNCC's approach to environmental reparation following Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait and its potential implications for future cases. We look forward to your participation in this stimulating discussion! Two distinguished experts, Cymie Payne, Associate Professor at Rutgers University, USA, and Lalanath de Silva, Managing Director at Transparentem, USA will discuss the relevance of the United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC)'s approach for future environmental reparation in post-conflict scenarios. This session will be moderated by Loeva Georges, Legal Officer at Wildlife Justice Commission, the Netherlands.
