New Tools for Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of Environmental Peacebuilding

May 4, 2023 | Environmental Law Institute, Environmental Peacebuilding Association, and Alliance for Peacebuilding
online

This session highlights two resources to help practitioners navigate the particular set of challenges faced when performing monitoring and evaluation at the intersection of environment, conflict, and peace. The Toolkit, developed by Environmental Law Institute and the Environmental Peacebuilding Association with support from the United States Institute of Peace, offers an evidence-based framework with proven and innovative tools and approaches to inform how practitioners monitor, evaluate, and learn from environmental peacebuilding interventions; the World Bank’s Roadmap provides guidance to help practitioners select a theory of change and develop a corresponding set of indicators. The session will also showcase experiences from institutions in undertaking M&E for such interventions. Attendees can expect to leave this session with a deeper appreciation of why M&E is different for environmental peacebuilding interventions and a familiarity with how these resources may be adapted to their particular contexts and needs.

The session will be held online from 2:00 - 3:15 pm (Eastern Time), May 4.
