The Forest Interest Group of the Environmental Peacebuilding Association is continuing the bi-monthly Extended Dialogue on Forests, Livelihoods and Peace. The upcoming session -- the third in the series -- will focus on trust as a foundation for peacebuilding. The session is open to all interested stakeholders, including researchers and practitioners, government leaders, farmers, community facilitators, women and youth, and private sector representatives with an interest in issues related to forests, environmental peacebuilding, and development.
The session follows on from a successful round table discussion which centred on the importance of intersectional approaches to environmental peacebuilding.
The dialogue series provides a platform for participants to share ideas, knowledge, experiences, challenges, approaches, methods, and tools to the driving question of how sustainable forest management can promote peace rather than conflict. Underpinning these discussions is a recognition that that diverse perspectives result in unique insights and lead to better solutions, and it is hoped that lessons learned can be captured, shared and applied to tackle a diversity of challenges.
The event will be held January 18, 2023 at 08:00 AM Eastern Time / 2:00 PM CET.
