The Role of the Judiciary in Protecting the Environment—A Conversation with the Colombian Judiciary

This webinar will examine the role of the judges in protecting the environment.  Following initial presentations by Colombian and other judges, participants will discuss opportunities for judges to protect the environment and natural resources, while also taking into consideration issues related to peace, livelihoods, and equity.  The webinar will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm (Colombia time) on Friday, March 19, 2021.

This webinar is part of a three-year project on “Transforming Illegal Logging in Colombia through Judicial Education,” undertaken by the Environmental Law Institute (ELI), the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), and the Universidad Externado de Colombia, with support from the Swedish Postcode Foundation.

Simultaneous English-Spanish interpretation will be provided.
