The conference will bring together representatives from government, the private sector, diplomatic missions, academia, and civil society to examine the growing security implications of climate change in ASEAN. Discussions will explore climate change as a “threat multiplier,” including its impacts on food, water and energy security, disaster resilience, biodiversity, displacement, and regional stability.The event will also consider policy and governance approaches to strengthen climate resilience and explore how the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairmanship can advance regional cooperation on climate security, climate and environmental diplomacy, and transboundary climate risks.
