This roundtable will interrogate the pervasive yet underexamined role of militarism in environmental peacebuilding and climate justice. Despite its profound impact on global violence, oppression, and ecological destruction, militarism remains a blind spot in mainstream peacebuilding frameworks, often overshadowed by technical or post-conflict approaches. Drawing on anti-racist, feminist, and decolonial perspectives, we will explore how militarism intersects with white supremacy, patriarchy, and extractive capitalism, reinforcing environmental harm and shaping responses to climate injustice. The discussants will share insights from global justice movements and Indigenous resistance to militarization. Together, we will invite participants to engage with non-dominant perspectives, rethink security, and identify transformative strategies for coalition-building and policy change. The session encourages critical reflection and practical action to ensure environmental peacebuilding does not perpetuate the very systems it seeks to transform. Discussants: Dr. Patrick Hiller - Executive Director War Prevention Initiative Dr. Theresa (Isa) Arriola - Northern Mariana Islander cultural anthropologist and indigenous rights activist from Saipan Chung-Wha Hong - Executive Director Grassroots International
