This roundtable explores innovative approaches to environmental peacebuilding across Africa, examining how environmental restoration, resource management, and climate adaptation can serve as pathways to sustainable peace. As Africa faces mounting environmental challenges—from desertification to water scarcity to climate-induced migration—traditional peacebuilding frameworks must evolve to address the complex nexus between environmental degradation and conflict. Convenors: Sarah Njeri – SOAS, University of London (on behalf of the African Interest Group) Co-Convenor: Larry Swatuk - larry.swatuk@uwaterloo.ca We invite the Scientific Committee to allocate paper submissions to this proposed roundtable. While we propose this as a roundtable discussion, we are open to it being a panel presentation
